After rinsing a used ketchup bottle, I decided it had a different destination than the recycling bin.
Cats love a puzzle. And better yet, I didn’t have to spend anything to make this toy. I already had the toy mouse to go inside.
This is a very easy reuse project, plus if you save the bottle cap, […]

It’s a bit crowded, but I find a place behind that Mickey Mouse you see. I prefer hiding in the corner, away from the junk store customers. Blogging in such a crowded place is perfect inspiration for Junk Creation.
Well, since today is “Where I Blog From” day at the Lifestyles Channel, and I write […]

Online dumpster diving is a bit neater, isn’t it?
At the ground level we’re walking into tin can pincushion from Derek and Lauren at Design Sponge. They repurposed kitty’s tuna can into a neat pincushion.
Going up to the second floor of the junk house, we have how to turn broken speakers into a snappy media cabinet […]

That’s right. Give Mom a Motherboard Grip Top Clipboard for Mother’s Day. I doubt someone else is thinking of that same gift, plus you’ve done the whole flowers and candy thing before.

Do we need a mascot around here?
Nuts the Junkyard Dog from chimpfeet is begging to apply, but I’m more of a cat person. Sorry, Nuts.
This loyal doggie is handmade from recycled metal and will rust with time outside. He’s a little expensive ($75), but he does stand 12 inches tall after all.
Remember to enter […]

This doodad captivated me so much I had to pay another visit with my camera to take its picture. Here’s what the tag says:

Circa 1900-1920
To use this fly catcher, remove the glass stopper and pour in honey or sugar water. Place where you see flies, and they get […]

Yard people aren’t just for the fall anymore. And today’s yard figures have jobs other than scaring away crows. They entertain, amaze and function as pieces of art.
Creative Scarecrows: 35 Fun Figures for Your Yard & Garden by Marcianne Miller with Merry Miller isn’t a new book (published in 2004), but it’s still very much […]
