Clock from CD and Printed Circuitboard

by Joshua Johnson on August 14th, 2007

PCB Clock

Attention all techies!  How cool would it be to have a clock for your desk at work that is made from a circuit board and a CD, but that was an analog format–just to spice things up?  I got the idea from a post at www.7gadgets.com titled: PCB Clock by .

Well I found one.  Not only that, but it can be made from parts you could get from Michael’s or (if you’re a tight-wad like I am accused of) an old battery powered, analog clock and cut the right sized hold in both CD and circuit board.  I suggest that if you try this, you cut the board and the CD separately and then glue them together–after making the hole for the hands, not before–But DO GLUE THEM.  The clock won’t be very stable unless you do.

Happy junk hunting and good day!
